Actress and filmmaker Mercy Aigbe has expressed gratitude to her fans for their overwhelming support in streaming her latest film, Ada Omo Daddy, on Netflix.

The movie, which was released in cinemas in December 2023, became available for streaming on Netflix and Circuits.tv on February 21, 2025.

Since its debut on the platform, Ada Omo Daddy has quickly risen to the top as Nigeria’s leading film on Netflix.

In an Instagram post on Monday, Mercy Aigbe shared her excitement over the film’s continued success, attributing her positive energy to the warm reception from fans.

“New week, new energy, new vibe. I’m starting this week feeling super pumped and energized, and it’s all thanks to the amazing reception of Ada Omo Daddy,” she wrote.

“I’m thrilled to see that our movie is still the talk of the town, and it’s bringing so much joy to our audience.”

The actress went on to express appreciation for the support that has kept her film in the spotlight.

Ada Omo Daddy is a family-oriented comedy-drama co-directed by Akay Mason and Adebayo Tijani and co-produced by Mercy Aigbe.

The film explores themes of identity, family secrets, and the complexities of love.

The story follows Pero (Omowunmi Dada), a young woman preparing for her wedding when her estranged biological father, Ifeanyi (Charles Okafor), unexpectedly reappears, disrupting her family dynamics and forcing her to confront her past.

The film features an ensemble cast, including Sola Sobowale, Chiwetalu Agu, Dele Odule, and Mercy Aigbe herself.

Upon its release, Ada Omo Daddy grossed over N218 million and was listed among the top ten films of the 2023 festive season by Premium Times.
