Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, the soon-to-be husband of gospel singer Mercy Chinwo, has reacted to an old video of himself saying she is like a sister to him.
The video went viral on social media after the duo announced their engagement on Thursday last week.
In the video, Blessed Uzochikwa could be heard saying Mercy is one of the best people he knows and she is like a sister to him. The one-minute clip led to funny reactions from fans who joked about the nature of their relationship before the engagement.
Reacting to the video while preaching on Sunday, the pastor said: “Special shout out to the online in-laws, I mean they dug up my old message where I said she was like a sister. eh eh eh brother eh, I’m a brother she a sister, when its time to get married look among the sisters and picked.
“When Mary Magdalene came to hug Jesus christ he said wait I am going to meet my father and your father he has turned to brotherhood and sisterhood.”
Announcing their engagement on Instagram, Blessed wrote: “I’M THE MAN THE LORD SHOWED MERCY! @mercychinwo thanks for saying YES! I LOVE YOU DEARLY! Ecclesiastical 9:9Live happily with the woman you love through all the meaningless days of life that God has given you under the sun. The wife God gives you is your REWARD for all your earthly toil.”
