Actress Mercy Johnson has announced the death of her father Daniel Johnson.
The screen beauty broke the news in an Instagram post on Friday.
In announcing his death, Mercy shared an old video showing when her father celebrated his 74th birthday.
Mercy, in the video, is seen standing beside her father as they both rocked polos with the inscription ‘Soul Cal & Co.”
The actress said the pain she feels in her heart over his death is the greatest she has felt.
“For the rest of my life Daddy, I will keep asking God why? I don’t think I will ever understand why he has taken you from me. And if he responds, I don’t even think I will accept it.
“They say love saves but my love did not keep you here with us. The great pain I feel now is the greatest pain of all.
“Rest In Peace my gentle father, NWO Johnson Ametuo Daniel. D.A Johnson, God clearly loves you more, that’s the only explanation that makes any sense to me,” she wrote.
Her post got over 2,000 comments and 30,000 likes in one hour.
Some of her colleagues have already reacted with condolence messages in the comment section.
Juliet Ibrahim wrote, “My condolences sis.”
Nancy Isime said, “So sorry to hear Big Sis. May his soul rest in peace.”
Omoni Oboli wrote that she knows Mercy is hurting but God would heal her heart.
Funke Akindele, whom Mercy worked with on the 2022 movie Battle on Buka Street, urged her to “stay strong.” Funke added, “So sorry for your loss.”
Eniola Badmus also sent her condolences.
Mercy Aigbe said, “It is well. Rest in peace sir. Accept my condolences.”
