Prince Odianosen Okojie, husband of Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson, has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
His resignation was conveyed in a letter sent to the PDP Ward Chairman in Esan North East Local Government Area, Uromi, Edo State on Friday.
“This is to humbly notify the general public and the PDP of my resignation as a member and leader of the political party,” he wrote in the letter.
He said the decision was reached after quality consultation with his political associates, family and friends.
Okojie was once touted to be eyeing the Edo deputy governorship position on the platform of the PDP.
He, however, denied it, choosing instead to criticise former Governor Adams Oshiomhole and the All Progressives Party (APC) for not giving the people what they deserve.
His wife, Mercy, was in May 2017 appointed special adviser on entertainment to the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, of the APC.
