Fans of English Championship side, Middlesbrough, have composed a terrace song for Nigerian international, John Obi Mikel, dubbing him the ‘African Zidane.’
The viral video of a group of Middlesbrough fans chanting “We’ve got the African Zidane” has been making headlines on social media since the early hours of Monday.
The 31-year-old footballer was at his imperious best as his side, Middlesbrough, recorded a narrow one nil victory over their Championship rivals, Blackburn Rovers, away from home on Sunday.
He was awarded the man of the match award for his performance.
John Obi Mikel returned to English football on a short-term deal at English Championship side, Middlesbrough during the January transfer window.
He made the decision to play with the number 2 jersey.
