Actress Mide Martins has shared a humorous video on social media where she hits her husband and colleague Afeez Owo while promoting their upcoming movie.
In the video posted on Tuesday, the couple known for their on-screen chemistry are seen in character giving fans a sneak peek of what to expect from the yet-to-be-released film.
The scene features Afeez on his knees as Mide, standing above him, asks in Yoruba where he got the money to stay in a hotel.
“Where did you get money for hotel accommodations?” Mide asks sternly.
Afeez, visibly nervous, responds: “I never intended to sleep in a hotel. God just had mercy on me.”
His response earns him a slap on the back of his head from Mide, to which he groans in mock pain.
In the caption, Mide playfully apologised for the hit and encouraged her fans to look forward to the movie.
She wrote, “COMING SOON!!! 💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼 Chai!!! My love, oko mi, so sorry for that big hit!!! Something Exciting & Hilarious Is Coming Soon On YouTube!”
The post quickly went viral, with fans and colleagues flooding the comments section.
Afeez himself joined in commenting, “Eberu Olohun oooo,” meaning “Fear God.”
Reginal Chukwu joked, “Pa mi ku Iyawo, pa fun wa o, na only you e dey marry abi.”
Adding laughing emojis, Bimpe Akintunde wrote, “Mumcyyyyy That’s our popsy ooooo.”
Mo Bimpe commented, “Haaaaa,” also with laughing emojis.
Ololade Afeez wrote, “Make una join me for Maryland bus stop, we go protest o. Justice for popsy!”
Mide, daughter of the late actress Funmi Martins, has two children with Afeez.
They have collaborated on several movie projects, cementing their status as one of Nollywood’s on-screen and off-screen couples.
