Chairman of Globacom Mike Adenuga on Friday arrived in Benin City, Edo State for the funeral of Maria Igbinedion, mother of a former governor of Edo State, Lucky Igbinedion.
Mrs Igbinedion died on December 2, aged 85.
A service of songs was held on Thursday at No. 5, Adolo Street, by Water Resources, off Ugbor Road in Benin.
The funeral service on Friday was held at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Ukhegie, by Ice Road.
Guests were received at Crown Heights Pavilion Event Centre, Country Home Road, Benin in compliance with COVID-19 protocols.
It was alleged on social media that Igbinedion was either strangled to death or suffocated with a pillow by her housemaid, who is said to be on the run.
But the family has been silent on the rumour.
