Former Super Eagles captain and Chelsea legend John Mikel Obi has marked his 38th birthday with a warm family celebration.
In a video shared online on Tuesday, Mikel’s twin daughters, Ava and Mia were seen singing an enthusiastic “Happy Birthday” song.
Now based in Dubai with his family, Mikel frequently offers fans glimpses into his personal life.
Tributes poured in from the global football community, including Chelsea FC, FIFA and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), all hailing his outstanding career and contributions to the game.
FIFA celebrated him with a photo featuring his name and the Nigerian flag.
During his 11-year stint at Chelsea from 2006 to 2017, Mikel won several major honours, including two Premier League titles, four FA Cups, two League Cups, the FA Community Shield and both the UEFA Champions League and Europa League.
