Dream Team VI skipper, John Obi Mikel, showed rare attacking ambition on Saturday to score the first goal as Nigeria ran out 2-0 winners over Denmark to qualify for the semi-final of the football event at the Rio Olympics.
That 29-year-old Chelsea midfielder, who has managed only six goals in over a decade at Stamford Bridge, was as cool as ice to slot home a most precious goal for his country.
He also delivered the corner from which Aminu Umar scored Nigeria’s second goal.
Given Mikel’s low goal return for club and country, his man of the match heroics didn’t go unnoticed by Twitter.
Below are some of the reactions.

I’m always disappointed when our fans call Mikel d Nigerian Zidane.
That’s absurd & insulting, Zidane should be called d french Mikel tbh.
