Nollywood actress, Kofoworola Akinlaja, will on Sunday, March 4 premiere her movie Aito (Misfit) dedicated to the fight against child marriage in Africa.
Starring the likes of Yinka Quadri, Ayo Mogaji, Toyin Adegbola, Kunle Afod and Yetunde Wunmi, the movie examines issues and challenges facing the girl child in general.
Akinlaja credits her mentor, Kunle Afod, for inspiring the movie.
“I pitched a story to my boss, Kunle Afod and he said the story won’t fly, that I should write a story on child marriage. That was when I started doing my research,” she said
“I read different stories but a story got my attention and I decided to work on that story to inform the society about the implications of child marriage,” Akinlaja added
The premiere is scheduled to hold at LTV Complex, Agidingbi, Ikeja with Fuji musician, Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, and as artiste of the day and actress, Ronke Oshodi-Oke, as master of ceremony.
