Miss Universe Africa and Oceania Chidimma Adetshina returns to Nigeria

Chidimma Adetshina who recently clinched the second position at the 2024 Miss Universe pageant has received a celebratory welcome on her return to Nigeria.

The pageant’s grand finale took place on November 16 at Arena CDMX in Mexico City, where Adetshina representing Nigeria, emerged as the first runner-up to Miss Denmark, Victoria Theilvig.

On Monday, Miss Universe Nigeria organisation announced a welcome party for Adetshina scheduled for Tuesday at the Silverbird Galleria, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The event kicked off at 10 a.m. with fans and supporters eagerly awaiting her arrival.

Adetshina shared her excitement about returning home on her Instagram Story, posting, “Off to Nigeria.”

Upon her arrival, videos circulating online captured her in a sophisticated red suit as she was warmly greeted by a cultural band which performed traditional songs and dances to celebrate her achievement.

The festivities continued inside the venue, where the model was led to her designated seat, acknowledging her enthusiastic supporters with waves and smiles.

Adetshina’s remarkable performance not only secured her a second-place finish but also earned her the prestigious title of Miss Universe Africa and Oceania—the highest ranking ever achieved by an African contestant in the history of the competition.

Reports indicate that the 23-year-old’s accomplishments come with substantial rewards, including a $100,000 cash prize, a one-year lease on a luxury apartment in New York, and a diamond-encrusted crown valued at $3 million.

Her success also opens doors to a promising career in modeling and the entertainment industry.
