Former presidential candidate Kingsley Moghalu on Tuesday held meetings with former heads of state – Abdulsalami Abubakar and Ibrahim Babangida – in Minna, Niger State.
Moghalu, who is also a former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, said he held discussions with the former leaders on the state of the nation.
“Consultations on the state of the nation…visited and met today in Minna with former heads of state H.E. Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, GCFR and H. E. Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) GCFR. Profound discussions on the path forward for national stability and progress,” he tweeted.
Moghalu said Abubakar holds a traditional title in Nnewi, Anambra State and that the former head of state was passionate about industrialising the town.
“Incidentally, although I am ‘only’ an Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) and not a Grand Commander of the Federal Republic (GCFR) Gen. Abdulsalami and I share the honor of holding Nnewi traditional titles. He’s passionate about Nnewi’s industrialization strides and potential,” he added.
Moghalu was conferred with the chieftancy title of Ifek’ego Nnewi in December 2020.
