Suspected internet fraudster Ismaila Mustapha alias Mompha has been released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Mompha was released on Wednesday about two weeks after he was re-arrested by the anti-graft agency in Lagos.
His lawyer Gboyega Oyewole told PUNCH the Instagram celebrity was released on bail.
He also said Mompha had withdrawn the N5million fundamental rights suit he filed against the EFCC to challenge his re-arrest.
Mompha who is facing money laundering charges before a Federal High Court in Lagos was re-arrested when he went to the EFCC office in Ikoyi, Lagos to reclaim his five wristwatches, one Apple Air pod, one iPhone 8 mobile phone and one pair of sunglasses, seized from him by the anti-graft agency.
Justice Mohammed Liman had on July 24 ordered the EFCC to release the items to Mompha following an application by his lawyer.
EFCC spokesman Dele Oyewale had said Mompha’s rearrest was connected to fresh internet fraud charges.
