Super Eagles duo, Victor Moses and Kenneth Omeruo, were part of the Chelsea squad that began preseason training on Monday.
The Blues were welcomed back by coach Antonio Conte before proper drills began at Cobham training ground.
Conte took the first of two sessions under beautiful blue skies and after a warm-up to get the players back in the groove.
It wasn’t long before the balls were out.
New signing, Willy Caballero, was among those in training but fellow new arrival, Antonio Rudiger, was given an extended holiday due to national team commitment.
Omeruo was one of four players returning to the club after spending last season on loan.
Others are Andreas Christensen, Lucas Piazon and Jeremie Boga.
Conspicuously missing was Diego Costa, who agreed with the club that he should have an extra few days off.
Moses, 26, who has finally settled at Stamford Bridge, impressed Conte this time last year.
The ex-Crystal Palace winger put up commanding displays, such that the Italian couldn’t resist keeping him.
He had spent three consecutive seasons away from the club on loan prior to Conte’s arrival.
Now Omeruo has similar opportunity to impress his manager.
The 23-year-old is yet to make an official appearance since after he was snapped from Standard Liege in 2012.
Instead, he spent four successive seasons at ADO Den Hag, Middlesbrough, Kasimpasa and Alanyaspor.
The Blues will begin their preseason tour of China and Singapore on July 22, where they will play Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan.
