Rinsola Abiola, daughter of the late politician Moshood Abiola, on Sunday paid tributes to her father on the 26th anniversary of his death.
Abiola is credited to have won the June 12, 1993 presidential election many describe as Nigeria’s fairest election.
The election was annulled by former Military President Ibrahim Babangida.
Abiola died on July 7, 1998 in detention after making an attempt to assert himself as the elected president.
Paying tribute to her father, Rinsola wrote on social media, “26 years. May Allah forgive your shortcomings and admit you into Jannah.”
Last year, Rinsola was appointed senior special assistant to President Bola Tinubu on citizenship and leadership.
She is a former special assistant on new media to ex-Speaker of House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; and former president, All Progressives Congress Young Women Forum (APC-YWF).
