Mother of slain Ajayi Crowther University student Alex Timileyin in coma – Activist

Slain Ajayi Crowther University student Alex Timileyin

Antonia Emiko, mother of the late student of Ajayi Crowther University Alex Timileyin, is in coma following the death of her son, an activist identified as Lord of Warri has said.

Timileyin, a sophomore student of mechanical engineering, was beaten to death on campus by some students on the allegation of stealing a phone.

Lord of Warri, who is Timileyin’s relative, wrote on Thursday in a post on X that Emiko has been overwhelmed by her only son’s death.

He wrote, “Princess Antonia Emiko, mother of the late Prince Alex Timileyin, is in urgent need of your prayers. She lies hospitalized in a coma, overcome with unbearable pain and sorrow.

“The bond between a mother and her child is unbreakable, and her only son’s tragic loss has left her shattered.”

The activist also appealed to the police and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde to ensure that those responsible for Timileyin’s death are held accountable.

“I also appeal to #oyostategovt, #OyoPoliceNG, and His Excellency #seyiamakinde to ensure that justice is served and those responsible for her son’s tragic death are held accountable.

“Let us rally around Princess Antonia with our thoughts and prayers, seeking comfort and strength for her in this darkest hour. May God’s grace and mercy be upon her and her family,” he said.

The police on Wednesday arraigned 25 students of the school in connection with the incident.
