Singer Mr Eazi has thanked the government of Uganda for releasing his colleagues Omah Lay and Tems.
The 29-year-old in a tweet said he was glad to hear the singers have been released on Tuesday.
He also thanked the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Uganda to the United Nations Adonia Ayebare and the chief justice in Uganda.
“Pleased to hear that My brothers and sisters are to be released & the case is resolved, Big love to everyone who worked on this & Special thanks to @adoniaayebare & The Government of Uganda, Chief Of Justice In Uganda,” he wrote.
In another tweet he said promoters must adhere to rules and regulations and be held accountable for flouting these rules.
“On the said issue, Promoters must adhere to Rules and Regulations & be held accountable for flouting these rules. We African Creatives get Little or no support, for the soft power & amount of Jobs we create,” he wrote.
Omah Lay and Tems were arrested by the Uganda police on Sunday following their performance at The Big Brunch, which held at Speke Resort, Wavamunno Rd, Kampala, Uganda on December 12.
Mr Eazi and other singers took to social media to call for the release of their colleagues on Monday.
He said, “Appealing to the Authorities in Uganda to Please Pardon & give clemency to my Colleagues & fellow Nigerian Cultural Ambassadors Temz & Omah Lay.”
Omah Lay and Tems were released after the chief magistrate of Makindye Okumu Muwone said they should be released from Kitalya Prison on Tuesday.
