Skit maker and actor Debo Adedayo well known as Mr Macaroni has addressed controversy surrounding a viral video featuring children reenacting his well-known “Daddy Wa” skit.
The video which showed children dressed in adult-like attire playing roles similar to Mr Macaroni’s sugar daddy character sparked significant outrage online.
Many viewers criticised the content, arguing that it was inappropriate for children and raised concerns about how such portrayals might affect their understanding of intimacy and relationships.
In response, Mr. Macaroni on Tuesday addressed parents on his X account (formerly Twitter).
He urged parents and guardians to be mindful when involving children in content creation, stressing the importance of ensuring that children’s talents are showcased age-appropriate, prioritising their well-being over viral fame.
In his statement he said, “Dear parents and guardians, I understand the urge to want to make the most out of our uniquely talented children. However, I strongly believe we must apply caution.
“We need to present their talents in ways suitable for their age. It’s important to prioritize their growth and development over fleeting viral moments. We owe it to them and to society to provide the right guidance. My love always.”
