Ahmed Musa said he is delighted to have his ‘brother’, fellow Nigerian Wilfred Ndidi, with him at Leicester City.
Twenty-year-old midfielder Ndidi made his City debut after completing his £15million move from Genk last week and his presence seemed to inspire Musa, who produced a match-winning performance to fire City through to the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Ndidi started despite training just twice with his new team-mates.
Musa, who has struggled to break into Claudio Ranieri’s starting 11 following his £15m move from CSKA Moscow in the summer, came off the bench in the first half to replace Leonardo Ulloa and scored both goals as City came from behind to beat Everton at Goodison Park.
The Super Eagles vice captain said the City fans can expect great things from his fellow Nigeria international and said there were some similarities between Ndidi and N’Golo Kante.
“He is a very good player and I say my brother is here with me,” said Musa.
“I feel very happy for him and you could see he played very well. You can see he will work very hard for the team.
“I am going to do my best to help him settle down. The fans can expect a lot from him and you can see what he can do.
“Definitely, in the two players, I think they are different, but I think Ndidi can do the same work that Kante can do. They are a little bit similar, yes.”
