Actor Muyiwa Ademola has celebrated his birthday by unveiling a remake of Ori, one of his most iconic productions.
In a post shared on his Instagram page on Sunday, the 54-year-old announced the new project, titled Ori: The Rebirth, alongside a compilation clip featuring highlights from the upcoming film.
Muyiwa urged his fans to celebrate his special day by reposting the clip and supporting the movie, which is set to hit cinemas on May 1, 2025.
He wrote, “Happy Birthday to me 🥂🍾.
“Ori has moved from being just a film to something hugely phenomenal. 22 years after the film was made, a day would never pass without me meeting someone who would ask me to remake this film.
“Ladies and gentlemen, Ori: The Rebirth is ready! Hitting cinemas from May 1, 2025! The world must see Ori: The Rebirth. Please, journey with me again, guys. This is all I request from you for my birthday. Happy Birthday to me once again 🎁❤️🎁.”
The remake, written, produced and directed by Muyiwa, features contributions from notable filmmakers Adebayo Tijani and Tope Adebayo Salami, with Filmone Entertainment handling distribution.
Celebrities such as Femi Adebayo, Toyin Abraham and Odunlade Adekola joined fans in celebrating the actor and his announcement.
The original Ori, released in 2003, is a critically acclaimed Yoruba-language film centered on themes of destiny, perseverance and self-discovery.
