Minister of Niger Delta, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has alleged that his accuser, the immediate past acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Joy Nunieh, has issues with her temper which has led her to getting married four times.
Akpabio made the allegation over the weekend during an appearance on Arise News.
Nunieh has accused the minister of several things – bombing a pipeline, threatening to remove her from office if she does not do his bidding, among others.
But the former Akwa Ibom governor told the host of the TV show that Nunieh was removed from office because she has no certificate.
“No matter the allegation, I wish she could go to the hospital and see a doctor and get some injection and relax. I’m saying there is something wrong with her temperament. You don’t need to ask me, you can ask about four other husbands that she married,” he said.
When asked if Nunieh’s alleged ex-husbands would provide answers to her professional conduct, Akpabio said: “That is not the issue. Is she a professional?”
The minister added that when he learnt of discrepancies in her certificate, he directed that it should not be made public because he has a special place in his heart for women as he has four daughters.
Nunieh had on Friday denied that the NDDC under her watch spent N22.6 billion.
She spoke to journalists after the final session of the Senate ad hoc committee investigating alleged financial recklessness and misappropriation of N40 billion by the interim management committee of the NDDC between October 2019 and May this year.
