Omowunmi Aloba, the wife of late singer Mohbad, has insisted that her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba, is fully aware that her son, Liam, is indeed Mohbad’s child.
In a trending interview snippet with BBC Pidgin on Monday, Omowunmi stated that Aloba is “100% sure” of Liam’s paternity but continues to demand a DNA test.
She added that she agreed to the test not to convince her father-in-law but to clear the “lies circulating in the media.”
“I miss my husband with everything. My child started school, and they wanted to write his name. And they wrote Mr and Mrs Aloba. I remember him from every angle of my life. You know I have a child for him,” she said.
“…I want to do the DNA for the media that has been fed with lies, not my father-in-law. Because left to me, he is 101% sure that the child is his (Mohbad’s) son.”
Omowunmi also recently spoke about her relationship with Mohbad, revealing that they first met on the social networking platform 2go when she was 13 and he was 15.
Mohbad died on September 12, 2023, and was buried the following day. However, his body was exhumed on September 21 for an autopsy.
Joseph Aloba has insisted that Mohbad will not be reburied until a DNA test confirms Liam’s paternity. However, Mohbad’s mother, Abosede, has accused him of deliberately delaying the process.
