My father indeed! Tope Alabi’s daughter Ayomiku praises Soji Alabi’s role in her life

Ayomiku Alabi, daughter of gospel singer Tope Alabi, has reaffirmed her love and respect for Soji Alabi, calling him her father amid renewed discussions about her biological parentage.

The conversation resurfaced after videos from Ayomiku’s private wedding ceremony on March 12, 2025, went viral, with some Nigerians questioning why her biological father did not walk her down the aisle.

Addressing the matter on Instagram on Monday, Ayomiku shared a heartfelt tribute alongside a photo of herself and Soji Alabi in traditional attire.

She wrote: “BABA AYOMIKU
A father indeed!!!
A man very much after my heart ❤️
A man of timber and caliber
A man whose love has been my pillar.

“I type this with tears in my eyes because where do I start from?
This man loves me beyond words.
I can’t begin to explain or express it.
I love you with every bone in my body and every flesh on my skin.
Thank you for being the best father to ever father me ❤️ from childhood up until the day

“You gave my hands in marriage to Olu.
And even right now you continue to father me.
May you reap the reward of every labour.
May you reap the fruits of coming from Lagos to Iwo every weekend.
May you reap the fruits of always being there on my birthdays.
OLUSOJI MI OWON
I love you baami ❤️.”

Before her marriage to Soji Alabi, Tope Alabi was in a relationship with Olalekan Oyegoke, also known as Mayegun Olaoye.

Their relationship resulted in the birth of Ayomikun in 1997.

In November 2020, Olaoye publicly claimed to be Ayomiku’s biological father, alleging that Tope Alabi had denied him access to their daughter for over two decades.

He stated that he and the singer were in a relationship while living in Akure, Ondo State and that their romance led to Ayomiku’s birth.

Tope Alabi, who is now married to Soji Alabi—her husband and music producer—has three other children with him.
