Ayomiku Alabi, the daughter of gospel singer Tope Alabi, has celebrated her stepfather Soji Alabi with a heartfelt tribute on his birthday, once again affirming his fatherly role in her life.
Sharing photos featuring Soji on Instagram on Thursday, Ayomiku poured out her gratitude for his presence and influence over the years.
She wrote, “My father, My father. Happy Birthday, Dad! Thank you for being my constant support, my quiet strength, and my greatest teacher.
“Your wisdom, kindness, and sense of humor have shaped so much of who I am today. I’m beyond grateful for everything you do and everything you are.
“Wishing you a year filled with good health, joy, and all the love you deserve. I love you so much with all my heart.”
Her tribute comes weeks after questions resurfaced about why her biological father, Olalekan Oyegoke (aka Mayegun Olaoye), did not walk her down the aisle during her private wedding ceremony on March 12, 2025.
At the time, Ayomiku stood firmly by Soji, describing him as the only father she had ever known.
Tope Alabi also celebrated her husband on Instagram, calling him her “Pope” and expressing deep appreciation for his role in her life and career.
“My Pope, My Choice now and forever, My HUSBAND. You have been a very solid pillar of support, backbone, Teacher, Prophet, Friend and a lot more to me,” she wrote.
“I thank God for the day I met you and I’m happy to do life with you. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you Sir. I pray that as you step into this new phase, it is accompanied by great wisdom, increase on all sides, peace and God’s goodness all around you.
“God will continually bless and keep you for me. I celebrate you greatly today, and I want to say I love you so much My Pope Olusoji John Alabi.”
Before marrying Soji Alabi—who also serves as her music producer—Tope was in a relationship with Olalekan Oyegoke.
Their union produced Ayomiku in 1997.
In November 2020, Oyegoke publicly claimed to be Ayomiku’s biological father and alleged that Tope had denied him access to their daughter for over two decades.
Despite the public claims, Ayomiku has continued to publicly honour Soji as her father.
