Rap artiste, Ruggedman, has revealed that his friend, wife and their eight-month-old child were kidnapped on Sunday by men attached to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Nigerian police.
The 42-year-old took to his Instagram feed on Monday, revealing that the family members were taken to a bush where the policemen extorted money from them.
“Yesterday my friend Sidney was kidnapped by SARS officers, I say kidnap because he wasn’t taken to a police station but to a bush along Imota Road in Ikorodu.
“Himself, his wife and his eight-month-old baby were taken to a bush, they threatened their lives until they got 30 thousand naira from them,” he said.
He went further to berate the SARS officers and those who have the power to put an end to their brutality but won’t, telling them that one day it will be their turn or that of a member of their family to suffer similar treatment.
Ruggedman was recently criticised by Mo’cheddah who told him to stop forcing his belief and cause on other entertainers.
Replying in an interview with Punch, the ‘Baraje’ singer dismissed Mo’cheddah’s comments, calling her a child.
“Mo’Cheddah and I do not have a beef; why would I have a beef with a child? The first and only time I ever saw her was when she ran to my car somewhere in Maryland to tell me that she loves my songs and she is my fan.
“That was the first and only time I met her. I cannot have any issues with her. If I have issues with anyone who is fighting a good cause, I would not use that cause to display any negative thing,” he said.
