President of Transcorp Group Owen Omogiafo has revealed she and her husband Osato Omogiafo faced hardship at the beginning of their marriage.
Celebrating the 20th anniversary of their wedding on Wednesday, Mrs Omogiafo said via Instagram that her husband did not have an engagement ring because times were tough.
She also said that although they had to pay for their wedding rings worth N35,000 in three installments, their lives have improved since then.
“It’s been 20 years of doing life with you, as Mrs. Osato Omogiafo… a lot of folks did not believe we would make it, as we did not have a long relationship – a few months – but you were clear and sure about us being one,” she wrote.
“As our vows said, for better for worse, through sickness and health, we do. From saying yes without an engagement ring, because omo, times were tough; from paying for our wedding rings in three installments (35k ooo); from starting our lives as a married couple in our flat on Beecroft Street, Lagos Island, to where we are today – Baba God, we say thank you!

“We have been through a lot, secondary infertility, including the very painful loss of our baby son, but God has been faithful to us and continues to be faithful to us.
“You have been a rock, our rock. Pushing me when I want to give up, when it is just too much.”
Omogiafo thanked her husband for helping her grow and for letting her stay true to herself.
