Former beauty queen Helen Prest-Ajayi says the children of her late husband Tosin Ajayi and his estranged wife Oluwayemisi Ajayi accused her of killing him.
Late Ajayi’s children have been at loggerheads with Prest-Ajayi since April 2020 when their father died.
Due to their feud and court cases, Ajayi’s corpse remained in the mortuary for 10 months before they reached a compromise as regards how he would be buried.
The ex-beauty queen in an Instagram post on Wednesday said it was never her wish to speak on her husband’s death on social media.
“It was never my wish to talk about the passing of my late husband Dr Tosin Ajayi on social media, despite the fact that during this 10 month period, from his death on April 26th 2020, I was accused of murdering him by his adult children and their mother after spending 42 days in St Nicholas Hospital by his bedside and dragged to Panti police station, then to coroners court and then to High court,” she said.
“I am thankful that God delivered me from all these false accusations and gave me victory to bury my late husband in the manner he deserved.”
Prest-Ajayi thanked clerics who prayed with her during the trying moments. She also thanked family and friends who stood by her.
The late Ajayi’s children said recently in a statement that Prest-Ajayi had clearly stated in court papers that she was a “companion” and thus could never be regarded as his wife.
Ajayi was the managing director of First Foundation Medical Centre, Lagos.
