Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote said on Friday that his mother watched her son Sani breathe his last.
Dangote described his younger brother’s last moments when the national leader of the All Progressives Congress Bola Tinubu paid him a visit in Kano.
The businessman said Sani’s children were also by his deathbed.
“It was painful because he died in front of me, our mother and children,” he said.
Dangote noted that he was personally broken seeing his brother’s life leaving his body through the machines in the hospital.
He thanked Tinubu for the visit, saying he appreciates the brotherly relationship that has been established with the Tinubu family for a long time.
“The way people have been coming is really overwhelming. The visit will help us to reduce the pain especially for myself because we grew together.
“It was painful when they tell us he was going to die in few hours and we had to watch him take his last breath,” he said.
In his condolence message, Tinubu said Sani was a “Lagosian and a great Nigerian.”
Sani died on November 14 in a US hospital. He was the vice president of Dangote Group. He also owned several business establishments.
