Controversial crossdresser Idris Okuneye popularly known as Bobrisky has traced his legal troubles to an award he received earlier this year for Best Dressed Female.
In a Facebook post on Friday, Bobrisky reflected on his challenges, stating that winning the award marked the beginning of his problems.
He suggested that if he hadn’t accepted the recognition, which included a cash prize of one million naira he might have avoided his current predicaments.
“My problem started from when I collected the best dressed female with a 1 million prize.
“For my life, if I see an award for best dressed female I will disappear from that location ASAP,” Bobrisky wrote.
Bobrisky received the controversial Best Dressed Female award at the premiere of actress Eniola Ajao’s movie Beast of Two Worlds (Ajakaju) in March 2024.
The decision to honour Bobrisky, who is not biologically female, led to a backlash on social media, with critics questioning the fairness of the award.
Following the uproar, Bobrisky has encountered various legal challenges including investigations by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and scrutiny from the Nigerian Immigration Service.
