Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has shared a touching revelation about his son, one of the twins he welcomed with longtime partner Chioma Rowland in 2023.
Speaking on The Breakfast Club podcast on Tuesday, Davido reflected on the loss of their three-year-old son Ifeanyi, who tragically drowned in a swimming pool at their Lagos home on October 31, 2022.
“We’ve got twins now, a boy and a girl. The boy looks exactly like my son who passed. They act the same. Everything he used to do, he does,” the singer said, describing the uncanny resemblance between the newborn and the late Ifeanyi.
The 31-year-old also opened up about lessons from his past relationships, admitting they have shaped his present mindset.
“I’m not cheating again. I don’t want wahala,” he said.
“I have five kids with four women. I’d rather go and live how my other guys are living. Maybe because I’ve had bad experiences. Sometimes experience is the best teacher.”
Davido referenced challenges faced by family members in polygamous settings, noting that some of his uncles still deal with long-standing relationship issues—scenarios he now wants to avoid.
Looking ahead, the singer confirmed plans to hold a white wedding with Chioma in Miami this August. The couple, who had a traditional ceremony in 2022, welcomed their twins a year later and celebrated their first birthday on October 9, 2024, in Atlanta.
At the time, Davido shared the moment with fans on social media, writing, “+1 Alhamdulillah,” alongside baby emojis, expressing gratitude and joy after their period of mourning.
