The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed that an air crash involving its aircraft occured on Friday near the Kaduna International Airport.
NAF spokesman Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet in a statement posted to Twitter said the immediate cause of the crash was being ascertained.
He, however, did not say if the chief of army staff Lt.-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru was among those onboard.
“An air crash involving a @NigAirForce aircraft occurred this evening near the Kaduna International Airport. The immediate cause of the crash is still being ascertained. More details to follow soon,” the statement read.
