The management team of musician, Naira Marley, born Azeez Fashola, has revealed that he is still in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
The update was given in a post on the singer’s verified Instagram account on Friday.
In a brief statement on InstaStories signed by the management team, they wrote: “By the way, Naira Marley is still in Ikoyi Prison, inshallah he will be out today.”
On Thursday, a Federal High Court in Lagos granted a N2 million bail to Naira Marley.
Naira Marley is facing 11 counts bordering on cybercrime for allegedly conniving with one Yad Isril (at large) to use Access card issued to other persons in a bid to obtain gain, an offence contrary to Section 27(1) (b) of the Cybercrime Prohibition, Prevention Act 2015.
Presiding judge, Justice Nicholas Oweibo, adjourned proceedings to October 22, 23 and 24 for accelerated hearing.
