Namadi Sambo’s elder brother dies

Former Vice President Namadi Sambo has lost his elder brother Suleiman Sambo.

Sambo died on Monday at the age of 82 after a long illness.

The deceased is survived by his wife, 11 children, 52 grandchildren, and 38 great-grandchildren.

During his career, he served in the Department of Government Printing within the defunct Ministry of Information and Home Affairs, Kaduna State, retiring as a chief superintendent in 1994 after 35 years of service.

Sambo was a respected community and religious leader whose impact was celebrated by many at his burial held at the Bashama Road Cemetery.

The burial was attended by family members, relatives, and sympathisers including religious and traditional leaders.

Leading the funeral rites, the chief imam of Kaduna Polytechnic Central Mosque, Ustaz Yusuf, urged Muslims to commit themselves to the worship of Allah and to contribute positively to their communities.

He also remembered Sambo for his dedication to religious tolerance and peace-building during his lifetime.
