Actors Nancy Isime and John Dumelo are set to star in the upcoming film Hijack ’93, slated for release on October 25 on Netflix.
The film’s trailer was unveiled on Thursday, giving audiences a glimpse of the gripping story to come.
Hijack ’93 follows the journey of four young men determined to bring about change by hijacking an airplane.
Their mission? To challenge their military-backed government, using the passengers onboard as leverage for social change.
Producer Charles Okpaleke revealed that the film is inspired by real events that took place in Nigeria in 1993, saying it’s a significant moment in the country’s history.
According to him, the goal of the project is to “preserve and share authentic African stories with a global audience.”
The film features an impressive ensemble cast, including Bob Manuel, Sharon Ooja, Jemima Osunde, and Efa Iwara, alongside Isime and Dumelo.
The project is a collaboration between Play Network Studios and Native Media.
