Members of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) have begun a protest at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos over the closure of universities for about seven months.
The students blocked the road on Monday at the airport, calling on the government to resolve its differences with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
The Federal Government claims all negotiations have been concluded but it will not go back on its no-work no-pay policy.
Members of NANS had earlier threatened to ground activities at the local and international airports across the country beginning from Monday, September 19 over the lingering strike.
The association carried out road blockages on several highways last week to force the government to end the strike.
The Federal Government, meanwhile, has taken ASUU to the National Industrial Court, seeking judicial solution to the impasse.
