The leadership of the National Assembly has started a meeting with the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu, in Abuja.
This was disclosed by Senate President Bukola Saraki at a world press conference he addressed in Abuja on Wednesday.
Saraki said the National Assembly was prepared to do what is necessary to ensure that the 2019 elections held without any hitch.
He had on Monday convened a meeting with the INEC boss to hold on Tuesday which was later postponed, following the siege that was laid to the National Assembly by officers of the Department of State Services (DSS).
The meeting with the INEC boss is to discuss the funding of the 2019 general elections and the Electoral Act Amendment Bill.
He also appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to append signature on the 2018 Electoral Act Amendment Bill.
