Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (PDP) has taken the oath of office and allegiance as senator representing Kogi-Central at the National Assembly.
The clerk of the Senate Chinedu Akubueze administered the oath on Akpoti-Uduaghan on Thursday.
This comes days after the Court of Appeal in Abuja declared her as the winner of the February 25 poll.
A three-member panel of the appellate court upheld the judgment of the state’s election petitions tribunal and dismissed the appeal filed by Abubakar Ohere of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The court dismissed the appeal for lacking in merit.

In September, the tribunal chairman Kemakolam Orjiako said Ohere’s results were inflated in nine polling units in Ajaokuta Local Government Area (LGA).
He added that INEC omitted the results of three other polling units meant for Akpoti-Uduaghan in the same LGA.
Following the necessary corrections, the court declared Akpoti-Uduaghan as the winner of the election with 54,074 votes, surpassing Ohere who got 51,291 votes.
