There was stampede on Thursday night at the Nativeland 2019 music festival held at Muri Okunola Park, Lagos after the VIP section fell apart injuring several.
Pop singer, Fireboy DML, was performing his hit song ‘Scatter’ when the incident occurred, bringing his performance to a brief stop.

The concert also witnessed performances by fast-rising talents including Lady Donli, Tems, JoeBoy, FireBoy, Buju, Gigi Atlantis, Somadina, DJ Cuppy among others.
Tweeting early Friday after the incident, Fireboy wished those who got hurt at the concert quick recovery.
“Things didn’t exactly go right at NATIVELAND ‘19 but i’m glad we could still vibe and have fun — massive thanks to all of you that came out for me and quick recovery to those that got hurt at the stampede. Love and blessings 🙏🏾❤️,” he said.

Naira Marley also spoke on Twitter about the incident.
He said : “Everybody was sad and upset, Stepped in the building had to control the crowd and put a smile back on my peoples face #NATIVELAND19.”
Music lovers have criticised organisers of the concert for the choice of venue, saying the congested park with little space caused the collapse of the VIP section.
