Chairman of the House Committee on Niger Delta, Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, has recused himself from presiding over the affairs of the committee.
Mr Tunji-Ojo said on Monday that he was leaving his position to allow fair hearing and to protect his integrity.
The interim management committee of the NDDC had requested him to step aside last week, saying it was not confident of getting justice with Tunji-Ojo presiding over the hearing.
The NDDC leadership claimed he was on a revenge mission.
Thomas Ereyitomi has assumed the position as chairman of the committee.
