Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, has expressed his delight after being named Leicester City Young Player of the Year.
Ndidi, 21, defeated compatriot, Kelechi Iheanacho and three others to scoop the prestigious accolade for the second successive season.
”I feel great. It is a proud moment for me. I feel very happy about it,” said Ndidi to Leicester City TV on Thursday.
”The fans have been fantastic. I would say kudos to them for always supporting the team.
”There have been a lot of ups and downs. The main thing is we are safe. The remaining games we are working towards it but this season as a whole it has been okay because we’ve learnt so many things.
”We’ll leave this for next season and see what comes out of it.”
Wilfred Ndidi was one of the Foxes best performers under Claude Puel this term, garnering the most tackles, passes and touches.
The Nigerian is ruled out of action for the next six weeks after suffering a hamstring injury in Leicester City’s 5-0 loss to Palace last weekend.
