Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, has tipped England to return home with the FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Ndidi, 21, plays his club football in England’s top-flight with Leicester City.
With Nigeria’s journey ended quite abruptly, the ex-Genk star has joined the ‘It’s Coming Home’ bandawagon.
England will face Croatia in the semi-final on Wednesday – the first in three decades they gor to this stage.
Yet, Ndidi believes the Three Lions could go one better this time to ultimately clinch the title.
“Since all the African countries are out of the tournament, I tip England to win the World Cup,” the 21-year-old Foxes star was qouted by FootballNG.
“(Nigeria’s) win against Iceland brought joy and hope to the nation and the team. Unfortunately, the game against Argentina did not go down well, as expected even though we put in our best in that game.”
Ndidi is currently on holidays in Nigeria after the World Cup.
He is expected to return to Leicester before the end of July ahead of the new campaign which begins in August.
