Ned Nwoko, the politician husband of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, has sent a birthday greeting to his estranged Moroccan wife Laila Charani.
The 62-year-old felicitated the 32-year-old who bore him three children in an Instagram message on Sunday.
“My dear Laila. As you know, I believe that we should celebrate life every day. As we wake up, we should be grateful to God for his mercies. I thank God for your life and wish you the very best today and always. On behalf of the family, I say welcome to a new age. We love you,” Nwoko wrote.
Laila had earlier wished herself a happy birthday on Instagram, ending a four-month break absence from the social media platform.
“Happy birthday to me,” she wrote along with two photos of her in a one-shoulder black dress.
Laila announced her separation from Nwoko on November 1, 2021 weeks after she unfollowed Nwoko and Regina Daniels on Instagram.
Confirming their separation in an Instagram post a month after, Nwoko accused Laila of infidelity, child abandonment and domestic abuse.
Laila claimed in a February 2022 Instagram post that her relationship with Nwoko changed after he married Regina Daniels.
According to the Moroccan, Nwoko shifted all attention to the actress and her son and only showed love to her (Laila) and her children on social media.
The woman who claimed she married Ned as a virgin added that he refused to let her pursue her modeling career after they got married.
She described their 10 years of marriage as the worst of her life.
Things took a dramatic turn in September when she publicly apologised to Nwoko and his family.
“This is to the entire Ned Nwoko family. I have realised that I made mistakes. They were not intentional. I listened too much to outsiders and I have decided to apologise to my husband and members of the family. I want peace and progress in the family,” she wrote in an Instagram post on September 3, 2022.
She deleted all the content on her Instagram page the next day and did not make another post until the one wishing herself a happy birthday on Sunday, January 29.
