Radio personality and comedian Chinedu Emmanuel, popularly known as Nedu Wazobia, has announced his departure from The Honest Bunch podcast following a controversy involving social commentator Martins Vincent Otse, also known as Verydarkman.

The controversy began when reality TV star Deeone, during an appearance on the podcast, alleged that Verydarkman had an interest in men. Rather than addressing the claim, Verydarkman shifted focus to Nedu, sharing private conversations and making allegations about the women Nedu had allegedly been involved with.

Amid the growing fallout, Nedu took to Instagram on Friday to reveal his decision to step down from the podcast, citing a need to protect his peace of mind, family, and the integrity of the show.

In his official statement, Nedu expressed gratitude for his time on The Honest Bunch podcast, noting its impact in sparking bold and open conversations. However, he acknowledged that the scrutiny, antagonism, and accusations stemming from recent events had taken a personal toll.

He wrote: “The past week has brought a lot into perspective for me. Hosting The Honest Bunch Podcast has been an incredible journey—one built on open conversations, bold perspectives, and the willingness to tackle difficult topics.

“But with that responsibility has come an overwhelming level of scrutiny, antagonism, and unfounded accusations that have now begun to take a personal toll.

“In light of recent events, I have made the difficult decision to step away from the podcast. This is not a decision I take lightly, but one I believe is necessary—for my peace of mind, for my family, and for the integrity of the show itself.

“I sincerely hope this decision brings an end to the negativity surrounding my name and allows The Honest Bunch Podcast to continue thriving. I remain committed to fostering dialogue in ways that encourage meaningful engagement and growth, and I look forward to new opportunities that align with that vision.”

Created by Glitch Africa in 2022, The Honest Bunch podcast is a talk show featuring Nedu alongside co-hosts Husband Material, Deity Cole, and Ezinne. The podcast is known for tackling controversial and thought-provoking topics, often sparking debates and engaging a wide audience.

The producers of The Honest Bunch Podcast are yet to announce how the show will proceed without one of its founding hosts.
