Media personality Chinedu Emmanuel, popularly known as Nedu Wazobia, has served a legal notice to social media commentator Martins Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), over alleged defamation.

In a pre-action notice addressed to VDM on Tuesday, lawyers representing Nedu and Tokindrumz Picture and Media Ltd accused VDM of making false and damaging claims in a video posted on February 19, 2025.

The 12-minute video, shared on YouTube and Instagram, was titled “How Nedu Diverted NGO Scholarship Meant for Nigerians,” which the lawyers described as being “full of nothing but incessant lies.”

They stated that VDM deliberately spelled “fraud” as “fr@vd” in an attempt to “circumvent the law.”

Addressing the allegations, the legal team said the Metropolitan School of Business and Management UK (MSBM) had already been investigated by the relevant authorities, who found no grounds for action.

They also accused VDM of repeatedly claiming that “Nedu also used Timaya and Kcee Limpopo to institute the fraud.”

The lawyers clarified that the Nedu Foundation was created to raise funds for students seeking admission into MSBM, but “this was not communicated to Nedu.”

They also stressed that Nedu “was not paid at all for his services: not for the promotion of the charity nor for organising the event.”

Regarding Tokindrumz, they noted that “Nedu is not the owner but is a talent under the brand.”

Attaching documents as proof, they demanded that VDM retract every video involving Nedu from all platforms within 24 hours, issue a public apology and pay N500 million for the damage caused to Nedu’s reputation.

They warned that failure to comply would lead to legal action.
