The Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi’s presence at the wedding of singer Davido and Chioma at Eko Hotel and Suites on Tuesday in Lagos has stirred controversy on social media.
The wedding had the who’s who in attendance including ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo; Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State; Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State; and Governor Alex Otti of Abia State.
Also among the guests were Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State; immediate-past governor of Akwa Ibom State Udom Emmanuel; Elegushi of Ikate land Oba Saheed Elegushi; and the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Afolabi Olaoye.
However, some netizens became critical of the Ooni after videos of him at the event went viral. They claimed that the Ooni should not be seen at social gatherings. They were however countered by those who believe the monarch did no wrong.
