Afrobeat legend, Femi Kuti, has revealed that the New Afrika Shrine will remain closed till the government confirms that it is safe to re-open it.
The 57-year-old revealed this in a video he posted on Instagram on Sunday.
“…The Afrika Shrine will remain closed till the government says it’s safe…,” he said.
The ‘Beng Beng Beng’ singer also thanked the doctors and nurses who are working tirelessly to help control the outbreak.
He, however, expressed fears for the poor whom he said will suffer more from the lockdown caused by coronavirus.
This, he blamed on the failure of the government to provide basic amenities for the people and called on them to use the pandemic as a lesson to work harder.
It was announced on March 18 that the New Afrika Shrine which is located in Ikeja, Lagos State, would be closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
