Next four years will be tough – Buhari

Muhammadu Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has given a hint as to what should be expected of his yet-to-be-formed government in the next four years.

Mr Buhari was on Wednesday declared winner of the presidential election conducted nationwide on Saturday.

While receiving members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Friday on a congratulatory visit to him, Buhari said he would concentrate on creating a robust economy for jobs to be available, engender security and tackle corruption.

“My last lap of four years, I think is going to be tough. People are very forgetful and that’s why during the campaign I spoke about our cardinal agenda,” he said.

The meeting was attended by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha; Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari; Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Winifred Oyo-Ita; National Security Adviser (NSA), Babagana Monguno; and over 20 ministers.

Congratulatory cards were presented to the president by the SGF and Head of Service on behalf of the federal cabinet and the public service.
