Hospital Mater Dei in the city of Belo Horizonte, South-Eastern Brazil, is preparing to welcome Neymar by reserving an entire wing to house the Brazilian player and his ten companions after surgery on his right foot.
The surgery to correct the fracture in his fifth metatarsal will be performed on Saturday.
The team present will consist of Brazilian national team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar and Gerard Saillant, the doctor who operated on Ronaldo Nazario after his knee injury in 2000, as well as Paris Saint-Germain assistant sporting director, Maxwell.
Neymar arrived in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday in a wheelchair before jumping on a private plane to his residence in Mangaratiba.
Local media suggest that Maxwell and Saillant will arrive in Brazil on Friday, the same day the former Barcelona player is expected to cross over to Belo Horizonte.
Lasmar told Globo that Neymar should be discharged the day after the operation, although it is still uncertain whether he will return to Paris to continue his recovery treatment with his club or if he will do so in Brazil.
The Brazilian doctor predicted Neymar’s recovery period to be two-and-a-half to three months, which wouldn’t allow the attacker to play again until the end of May, around three weeks before Brazil play Switzerland at the World Cup.
