The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) led the tribute for bereaved former Chairman of Lagos State Sports Commission, Deji Tinubu.
Tinubu passed away on Thursday while partaking in novelty match in the Epe area of the state.
The game was part of a three-game retreat for members of the State Executive Council, Body of Permanent Secretaries and heads of government agencies and parastatals held at Jubilee Chalet, Epe.
Tinubu, until his death, was Special Adviser to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on Commerce.
However, the nephew of former Governor of the state, Bola Tinubu, is fondly remembered for his involvement in sports.
A popular sports presenter, Tinubu was also a former executive committee of Nigeria’s apex football body.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of former Executive Committee member of the NFF, Mr. Deji Tinubu following his sudden demise last night. We are still in shock as we pray for the repose of his soul. #RIPDejiTinubu pic.twitter.com/b42LMrPu68

Really shocked to hear about the passing of Deji Tinubu, he blessed morning radio with his knowledge of football. I cannot believe he has gone just like that, such cruel fate. Our condolences to his family and friends.
