With the 2018 FIFA World Cup almost upon us, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) appears to have begun its own countdown to the Mundial.
The Super Eagles will be participating in their sixth tourney come June in Russia.
Argentina, Iceland and Croatia will provide stern competition for the three-time African champions at the group stage.
To set the mood for the showpiece, the Glass House on Thursday shared a throwback video of Finidi George’s superb goal against Greece at the 1994 edition in the United States.
With the match tied at goalless and the Europeans mounting serious pressure, Nigeria burst forward through Emmanuel Amuneke who located a sprinting George.
George controlled wonderfully to beat the onrushing opposition goalie, sending wild scenes at the Foxboro Stadium, Foxborough.
His ensuing celebration was by far more epic.

Amokachi then buried the game in the closing stages as Nigeria secured top spot ahead of Argentina.
The Super Eagles fairytale run, however, ended in the round of 16 against Italy.
Gernot Rohr’s team to Russia 2018 will definitely be hoping to exceed that feat.
